I am unable to create an ODBC entry to a SQL Server 6.5 Database.

I go into the ODBC 32-Bit Data Sources, and try to connect to the database - I get the error message "Login failed- User: guest".

My NT ID that I am using has an underscore in it. (ex: john_doe), however I want to connect to the database using SQL Server Authentication. The NT ID john_doe has been added to the database. I want to be able to connect to the database using john_doe as my ID..

However, when I login to the client machine with an ID with no underscore (ex: jdoe), I am able to successfully connect to the database using SQL Server Authentication...

If Sql Server 6.5 does not accept underscores, is there a workaround here?
