SQL Client Connectivity

I was given a file called SQLREDIS.exe that was supposed to provide SQL Server Client connectivity to Windows machines.

This is an invisible install, i.e. no confirmation is given when the file is ran. The problem is this doesn't seem to work and I have to install the conectivity from the SQL Server 2000 disk. Any ideas?
