Hi all,

Just found a problem with my scheduled backup on my sql server, it displays the following error in the event viewer....any ideas ?

SQL Server Scheduled Job 'DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'Main Backup Plan'' (0xF7E736988500BB4083F831C5168CE513) - Status: Failed - Invoked on: 2006-08-30 08:40:00 - Message: The job failed. The owner () of job DB Backup Job for DB Maintenance Plan 'Main Backup Plan' does not have server access.

Cheers

Scott

Go into the job properties and see who owns the job. Then go under Security and see what DBs & rights that user has. Chances are one of the DBs the job is trying to back up either has a Deny or does not have explict access granted to the user account in question.

I've changed a lot of my jobs to the owner of "SA" to circumvent this problem or to the NT User account that the SQL Server Agent is running as. It usually resolves it.

Let us know if that doesn't, though.
