Hi.
I'm using Datacore SAN symphony which is a virtualization software accross the SAN. One of the feature of this software is that you can trigger snapshots of the volumes in order to serve up the PIT copy to a backup server.
The challenge is to create scripts for different RDBMS software in order to automate the task. I've managed to trigger snapshot backups with Oracle but I'm trying to find out how to do it with SQL server 2000. Basically, I need to use command line to quiesce the database or put it in backup mode before triggering the snapshot command.
Any help or advice on how to perform this would be mostly appreciated.
I'm also looking into performing the same task with MSExchange2K.
Thanks in advance.
