I heard that the SQL 2005 Cert is free right now, and if you pass it counts.

So far I have only found free e-learning. Has anyone else heard of the cost of the test being waived and if so a link?

Required Exams for MCTS: SQL Server 2005 (One Exam Required)
Exam 70–431: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005

The only tests that are free are the current beta exams. Beta exams typically only have 500 hundred slots world wide so they go fast. You also have to be invited by Microsoft to take the exam. To get on the invite list you have to hold the previous version of the exam or cert.

In my case since I'm MCDBA I got invited to take 4 of the SQL 2005 cert tests. I was only able to get registered for two of them.

I've seen conflicting info about if you pass it counts. In the emailed invite it said that we'll get a voucher to take the real test for free, but in the FAQ (linked from the same email) it says that it counts to the real cert if you pass.
