I have an application that requires that SQL 2000 client tools be installed in order to function properly. The problem is that my web server is 2005 web edition which doesn't allow any kind of SQL 2000 install. Does anyone know of a way to workaround this and get the SQL 2000 client tools installed?

Thank you,

Bill

The problem is probably in the files that are being used. My only suggestion is to create a virtual machine on your webserver with a slightly earlier OS on it and install the SQL 2000 client tools there.

I don't know if that'll do what you need it to, though.

Head out to Microsoft's site ( and see if they have a solution posted. If not, you should post directly there and ask their own people if they have a shortcut.
