I ran spybot S&D on a W2k workstation, found a few things, and deleted them.

Since then all internet access and network printers have been disabled. My neighbor, a computer store suggested that I have a corrupted Winsock file. Does anyone know where I can find a winsock repair program for W2K? I have seen them for win 98, XP and Millenium on a google serch.

Any other ideas, do not really want to reinstall the operating system.

I will try the LSP-fix, thanks

Bcastner, I saw the post you are recommending, but it appears to be for XP, not W2K, correct me if I am wrong. While I am a competent administrator of my computers I do not know enough to want to use your suggested tool on W2K boxes because it seems to be for XP. But maybe it is OK on W2K too?

If you receive error messages while running LSP-Fix see the readme.txt file that comes with it for how to correct deleted or corrupted registry entries.

The resources that Bill posted may work as well. Many similar utilities that I have tried with XP also work with W2K.

WinsockFix includes a complete set of registry entries for Win95, Win98, Win2k and XP.

Thank to Frank4d and bcastner, the problem is solved.
