Checking for updates in Version 1.2 yields no indication that a new 1.3 version is now currently available (13,734 items). I had been wondering why no updates for quite some time:
I had to uninstall 1.3 due to stablity issues on my XP box. So before the upgrade, make sure to set a restore point or back it up. The big problem was IE was freezing as was Firebird and Mozilla. Perhaps in the past 30 days they have patched around whatever the issue was but regardless, it was a nasty surprise
I have updated a machine on both Win98 and XP Home without incident.
The only thing that seems to be different is in the 'Recovery' features. It only appears to have mostly 'Windows Registry' recovery entries. Entries for removed cookies and file items no longer appear to be retained or present. I seem to recall that they would have been there in a previous version.
Probably a minimal risk issue but a difference non-the-less. Adware retains such items in its backup recovery process.
