Hi
Hope I'm in the right forum, but I have some large files on my server in a folder

system32/spool/printers

they are finishing with the extension .spl, .shd

What do these files do? and am I okay to delete them or will all my printers disapear???

Thanks in advance

Each .spl should have a corresponding .shd file.

Each .spl file is a print job, containing the raw data being sent (or to be sent to a printer). It's corresponding .shd file is the print job control file. It contains information regarding the status of the job.

You can delete all of these to delete any current print jobs. Doing this won't do anything to the actual printer settings themselves.
