We have a New G5 Dual, OS 10.3, Quark 6.1. Everything that I do in Quark brings up the Spinning Beach ball for a half-second. Nothing is instant. If I click on the Hand tool, I get the beach ball, then it selects. If I drag a box, I get the spinning ball. It doesn't matter what. This is killing me. Even though it is only for a split second, doing 10 quick things now takes twice as long as it should. Why is Quark "thinking" about every move I make. It now takes me twice the time to do something on this machine as it does on an old G4 with Quark 5. Dual processor, 2GB of RAM. This should not be happening!

You might check to see if Classic is running in the background. If so, quit. I have noticed performance reduction while Classic is running on my machine.

Classic is not running. I hardly ever use an app that needs it. Quark just wants to "think" for a second about every little move. The operation is fine. No crashes, Just a pause for even the simplest move of a box.
