Is there anyway to speed up the access speed between an ASP page and a DLL?

We have a page that calls a number of DLLs in the process of it opening and depending on user selections. It was designed to replace a DOS based program and while i'm aware it could never be as fast as that I'm convinced I must be able to do more to speed it up.

Any help appreciated. "Life is like a Ferrari, it goes to fast.
But that's ok, because you can't afford it anyway" - Jim Davis (Garfield)

Are the DLLs COM DLLs or normal?
You might want to see if you can load them on Application start.

Dependant on my first question will dictate suggestions I could make.
