Hiya

Does anyone have an up to date list of supported APs for use with the AVPP and the ones on the Avaya knowledge base AND the polycom website are out of date, with discontinued kit.

Why am I not surprised...

Thanks!

Dave

Hi Thanks for that.
It lists items that are the same as the list I was looking at.
in particular we were looking at the HP stuff and these
HP ProCurve E-Series MSM700 controller with MSM310, MSM320 APs are discontinued, although I think you can still get the MSM700 controller.

Sorry about that. I'm an old Nortel guy (please don't hold that against me), but the newer Polycom/Spectralink sets in the Nortel world have a firmware release that no longer requires the SVP/AVPP server, giving you native WMM support on the handsets. I don't know if it's the same with Avaya as I haven't yet deployed any Spectralink handsets on the IPO, but if it is, and your HP gear supports WMM, you should be able to run that way.

From what I recall in the past, VIEW certification was quite expensive for the vendors to pursue, which is why you don't see a lot of manufacturers listed. I've run Spectralink sets on non VIEW certified gear in the past with decent results, assuming you aren't talking a huge deployment with dozens of sets.
