I have Windows XP home and in the last couple of days my speakers only work some of the time. I have checked all cords and everything is connected. I really think it is in a setting somewhere, but I can't find it. Recently I have downloaded and started using Eudora Mail. That has been working fine though so don't think it is the problem. Any suggestions??

Unless there is any pattern to when the speakers are not working I would say it is probably a hardware problem with the speakers or the connecting cables. Can you get hold of another set to try, that is the easiest way. Help us to help you, please post back and tell us if this helped.

All things are possible except skiing through a revolving door.

That has happened to me more than once and on more than one WinXP box. I remedied the problem each time by reinstalling the drivers for my sound card.
