spaces in a field name

Is it possible to have a field name with spaces ?
Example: Last Name

If yes, how do i call the field ?

If you are designing the database, then I would highly recommend NOT using a space, but if you already have a field with it, you can usually put it in brackets and alias it.

e.g

Select [Last Name] as LastName from myTable, etc.
