Space being eaten up - Newbie Needs help 2

I have a file / Exchange 5.5 server that is not doing well. Our IT person left rather quickly and we do not have anyone able to start for two more weeks. In the meantime I have been tasked with keeping us running. My problem is that the drive we have partitioned for Exchange (and some files) is running out of space. Now I have checked and Exchange is not using all of that space, but I can't find anything else that is. How can I find out what is taking up so much space so quickly?

Try using Folder size service

These should help you find there all of the space is being used, if it turns out to be exchange then you can ask in the exchange forum someone there will be able to help.

mgalindo, you didn't specify how your server drives are partitioned, it is possible that you have the pagefile on the same partition as your Exchange installation. If this is the case, you cam move the pagefile to another partition (if possible). Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I tried tree size, but it won't work on networked drives apparently. How do I find out if pagefile is on the same partition? Could I compress this drive to save space, or would that screw things up? Please keep in mind, I'm not really IT, I just happen to be the best with computers in a small office. I thank you for your patience and help!

Look on the drive for a file called pagefile.sys or you can view settings in control panel -> system -> Advanced tab -> Settings button -> Advanced tab after all that you will see a virtual memory area.

If you are using NT 4.0/2000 it would be under Control Panel->System->Advanced->Performance Options->Virtual memory

It would tell you where the pagefile is currently residing

You can then change it by setting it to 2MB on C: (since this is a minimum requirement) and put the remainder on one of the other available partitions (you will need to reboot for this to take effect)
