Sp4 Installation error

hi,

while installing sp4 onto windows 2000 Advanced Server, an error occurs saying "unable to connect to metabase"
i tried stopping the IIS , exchange etc,
but now the error is
"Unable to connect to metabase"
"Setup failed to remove ism.dll script mappings. service pack setup will abort".
anybody please help me with this
