i was installing sp3 on windows 2k server when it failed, the server now just reboots, i can boot into RC i have stopped some services but it has done no good.

any ideas????

A lot of people seem to be experiencing variation on this problem. Try getting the server up then going into the Recovery tab in Services and make sure that None of these are set to Reboot computer.

This will be hidden in the registry somewhere too and it'd be an idea to chack this too. If you find out where in the reg it is can you post as this might would help others.

Hope it helps,

Iain

Start > Run > regedit > My Computer\HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SERVICE NAME

That is where you can find the recovery settings for the W2K services. I believe the key you will see is called "FailureActions". AJ
