SP2 Problems

I have the typical SP2 problem of not accessing a bespoke software program having loaded it. I have not been able to carry out the fixes MS are publishing & their phone line is not helping.

I am on XP Home and a domain I need to start the security centre but can not find how. Please help?

I dont think you can use XP home on a domain.

You are right you can't but this is a W XP Home on to a server - so I have assumed that it is a domain. Probably the wrong assumption

I have advised the user to remove the SP2 - Microsoft were no help in this.The way in which they tell you to remove it has not worked. We have decided to up grade to XP Pro to solve the problem.

Can we just go ahead and install XP Pro on top and hope the problem will go away?

Upgrading XPHome SP2 to XPPro is a no go, I'm afraid. Will have to be a parallel install or lose the Windows folder.

(Maybe a 'repair' booting from the Pro CD would work; I haven't tried that....)
