3.1 General implementation instruction
3.1.1 General implementation instruction
As SP9 requires an INL load of the ASB 501 04 system we strongly recommend to use the free SP12 system dump service from EBC if there is an update from SP8 or earlier.
Short work description for SP12 update from SP8 or earlier:
Order the SP12 update in Metrix from web interface or by email to EOCC.
Zip compress the PC-Regen regenerated files with ebcssp as password protection.
E-mail the zip file to the Easy SW Upgrade team.
The Easy SW Upgrade team creates a new BC11/SP12 or later system dump, and place the zip compressed file on this page.
Save the Capture and Comfault log files from the notification e-mail, and download the HDU file and decompress it.
Upload the files and folders to the HDU.
Mount the new HDU in the target system and preload exchange data to local backup and execute the release change.
Insert the Not Accepted commands from the Comfault log file into the ASB 501 04 system, and do a system dump.
If the exchange allready has SP9, SP10 or SP11 installed it is recommended to use the SP12 CNA.
Note: It is strongly recommended to perform the upgrade during low traffic period.
The CNA files are used for automatic update by the SAM toolbox ESD (Ericsson Software Distributor) application (For more information see ESD manual). The following steps should be done:
Download SAM Toolbox 3.6 SP3 and install.
Print the number conversion data and save it to a file.
Copy all .cfg files, which are placed in subdirectories .. bc11xx.SP12 esd helpfile.*, to the Distribution files (.CFG, .INI) path defined in Options Settings.
Set up the job in the ESD by choosing menu item Job list>New>Job list file and follow the Job Wizard.
ESD tool can be used if the customer's PABX is entered into the customer database which is administrated by Customer Database Administrator.
Select file bc11sp9tosp12xx.cfg for updating from SP9 to SP12 or bc11sp10tosp12xx.cfg for updating from SP10 to SP12 or bc11sp11tosp12xx.cfg for updating from SP11 to SP12(xx stands for Application system version e.g. st for standard system).
Select Continue without firmware switching. Firmware switching shall be done after system update.
After Job Wizard is finished, choose menu item Update > Start. ESD will now update the system automatically.
Remove the number conversion from the system.
Remove Program Units NUH, NUD and QMP and replace with new version included in the CNA. For more information see file readme.txt in directory ..bc11xx.SP12 ManualActions SPxx in the CNA.
Insert the number conversion from the file.
Make a system dump.
Check the result of the system update with MD Inventory Tool. Reference .mcc is placed in subdirectories .. bc11xx.SP12 mcc. (For more information see MD Inventory Tool Manual)
3.2 Special implementation instruction
3.2.1 Service Pack 10
After loading SP10 TLP1 and MMP have to be restarted in all LIMs (OPERATIONAL DIRECTIONS 1/154 31-CNA 103 254 Restart of program unit).
For Application system Sweden all TMU boards have to be restarted to get confirmation tone active (OPERATIONAL DIRECTIONS 1/154 31-CNA 103 254 Restart of device boards). Deblocking of TMU boards must be done after restart (OPERATIONAL DIRECTIONS 2/154 31-CNA 103 256 Deblocking of device boards).
FR 96974 in Service Pack 10 requires that the route data of QSIG connection to Solidus eCare is set according to the configuration data given in the Open Application Server (OAS) System Manager Guide, chapter 3 - MD110 Configuration.
Especially the number types for the DEST (External destination) to the media server is important, recommended value for ADC ( Additional category for external traffic) = 14450xxxxxxx.
The alarm 357, jitter buffer overflow, is removed temporary in SP10. In SP9 there was a fault creating this alarm but the correction in SP10 for this fault does not work in a correct way. The problem with this alarm will be solved in SP11.
If using the automatic gatekeeper discovery function for IP telephone the following is applicable.
When more than one PABX is connected to the same LAN, the station identity parameter is used for the IP extension to know which of the PABXes to log on towards. If the station identity parameter is used, please follow the procedure below at upgrading from SP9 to SP10 to avoid problems in the IP telephones:
update the configuration file for the IP telephone with the new station identity.
upgrade the ASB 501 04 with SP10.
when the upgrading of ASB 501 04 is ready, next time the IP telephones re-boot, the telephones will use the configuration file with the correct station identity.
3.2.2 Service Pack 11
Applicable for IP installations
When more than one PABX is connected to the LAN, the station identity has been used in the IP telephones to know which PABX that the telephone shall register towards. This method is not valid and the gatekeeper identifier (GKID parameter in ASB 50104) is used instead.
Check in the previous configuration file for the IP telephone. If station identity is used define in the new configuration file the gatekeeper identity for the PABX to register towards. For the changed handling of the Gatekeeper identity in the IP telephone, see Installation instructions for DBC 413 (1531-DBC 413 01 Uen) and the description for the configuration file for DBC 413 01 in ALEX.
