SourceSafe - anyone worked with it?

I am using sourcesafe for the first time here and i am having a bit of a problem so would appreciate any help....

-I checked out Project1
-Added form1 to Project1
-Saved form1

Need to start coding form1 and add controls to it but i get an error message when try to check out form1 or check in Project1.

error:
"some files have not been named yet. save your files manually to choose thier names before proceeding with the sourcesafe oepration."

oh forgot to note that its the 6.0 version

Do you need to save the form and project? Check out the project file and try saving both.

i tried checking out the form before saving but it gave an error so i saved it and tried checking it out but i get the error mentioned earlier.

i get the same error when i try to check out the projectd also.

Can you save the form independently, check it back in, and then check out both the form and the project and add the form to the project?

Thanks that helped in terms of making the form now part of the project - however tho i have a new problem.

when i try to check out the form to modify it now, i get an error that the from is not valid for this operation.

any ideas as to what may be happening here.
