Sounds on computer....how to get rid of them? PLEASE HELP 1

i have a dell business computer that i aquired for free. It works fine. There is no port for speakers and there are no speakers on the computer. I'm on AIM a lot and everytime somebody IMs me or I IM them it beeps. Its annoying as anything you've ever heard. How do you get rid of it?

Select the My AIM menu, click Options, Edit Preferences, and then click the Sounds tab. Turn off the Beep option.

This happens in our office all the time. Turn off all sounds in AIM. Sounds are in two places, one under IM/Chat/Mobile and under Expressions. Set it to "Do not play any sounds".

It'll stop.
