Just installed a DVD drive and the DVD software in a Dell P4 Dimention. When we inserted a DVD, the movie plays like it is in fast forward. Then I noticed all the regular Windows sounds play at double time. The the dings play fast and high pitched. Not normal. Any thoughts? I am at a loss. I checked all settings, they look normal.

Worst case go into hardware manager and remove the soundcard and dvd player then let windows reinstall them and see what happens.

Thank you Krosus. I will try that. I thought I would reinstall the sound drivers. Figures, EVERY time I help someone out with their computers something else happens!!! :(

Will let you know.

It is almost like playing a 33 record at 78rpm!!

Thank you, I removed the audio driver and let 2k install it again and all is fine. Very very strange.

I have also noticed this on our Dell GX240's. It sounds like every song is being performed by Alvin and the Chipmunks. I have had to install the R45973 driver from Dell to make it sound correctly.
