I heard there are problems with Soundblaster live and some AMD 1.4G motherboards.

I have upgraded to an Asus motherboard (A7V133 or something like that)

After I heard, I disabled the SB16 Emulation. However I heard that there should be others things I should do to safeguard my system.

Can anybody clarify.
PS. My systems seems to be working fine, just not as fast as I would have expected (I upgraded from PIII-550).

I have the SBLIVE and the 1.4 GIG AMD on a DDR Asus board. No problems what so ever and runs like a champ.

I wouldn't be worried about it unless your having problems.

If it's not broken don't fix it!!
we owners have enough real problems without looking for ones that aren't there!! Martin

I guess you're right paparazi,

But i heard it can cause performance downgrade as well as a possibility of data corruption on the hard disk.

I think it is specific to the motherboards which support AMD Athlons 1.3G and above and is a design flaw in the SBLive design.
