Hello all...

My Dell Dimension 4300 has a Santa Cruz Turtle Beach sound card. Of course, the PC came with an internal modem also (which I'm not using anymore since I have DSL). My question is: I'm in the process of installing another HDD but have only 2 IDE connectors on my MOBO. Since I'd like to have each HDD on it's own channel, I purchased an Ultra ATA 133 PCI card so that my CD-RW can use one of its IDE/ATAPI connections and the two HDD's can use the IDE conenctions on the MOBO. I have run OUT of PCI slots on my MOBO but there are two wires on my sound card...the grey one for sound (runs directly into my CD-RW) and another that runs from my sound card to my modem. If I remove my modem (I need to in order to insert the Ultra ATA 133 PCI card), will this have any affect on my sound card? Why the wire from the sound card to the modem anyway? Thanks in advance...

this won't do anything to the soundcard.

the main use for this wire is for voicemodem.
