sound lock

A strange problem this.

After playing Unreal Tournament (and only after unral tournament the next thing i click on my windows 98se desktop causes the sound to lock -- i simply get

any way you get the picture.
As you have probably already found, this is vey annoying as the only way to get rid is to perform a restart. I have the most recent liveWare! drivers for my SB1024value!

The clicking sounds like full buffers.
What else are you running while you are gaming?
Try turning off anything ram intensive, like antivirus, while playing and turning back off afterward.
