Hi,

I have recently upgraded a computer. Since I have upgraded it, the sound card keeps getting stuck when playing sounds of any kind. The only way to stop it is to open and play another sound. Then the next time you try to play something, the same thing happens again.

I am sorry but I can't remember what sound card it has in it. All I know, is that the sound card came out of a 486 computer and is now in a P166 with 64MB RAM.

Any ideas to the cause (and solution) of the problem

-Check to see if there are any conflicts with the sound card in Device Manager.
-Were drivers loaded for the sound card from its software? If not, then this may be the cause of your problem because Windows may have loaded the wrong driver for it as a sound card from a 486 machine is an old one. If you can determine who made it, then go to its website and see if any drivers are available for it. If not, then just buy and install a new one. There are inexpensive sound cards out there for around $10-15. [sig][/sig]
