In a text field (Access 2000), I have put the following values, sorted ascending, with the follwoing results. If Access sorts by ASCII, I would have thought that the 1 should come last. Why hasn't it?

*1
/1
1
'1
-1

Thanks

Hi

That's what I would have expected. However, when I try it, I get this order:
*1
/1
1
'1
-1

What am I missing?

Thanks

How are you sorting it? The table I posted is from a query in ascending order

I am just right clicking on the heading and selecting sort ascending!
