Hi there; this is a weird one and I am totally stumped!

I am admin for a db, with full rights on all objects in the database. I have 5 other users with some restrictions.

I have a form with a subform [datasheet] on it.
When I [as admin with full rights] open the form, I am unable to add a record to the subform. I gat the "recordset is not updateable".

But if a user opens the same form from the same db, they are able to add records to the subform.

How is this possible?
I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. Yesterday I was able to add records etc. and now suddenly I can't. Help would be most appreciated.

On top of that, when I open some forms in form view, and then switch to design view, I get "you can't reference a property or method for a control unless the control has the focus" ?????? very odd

Hi,
I don't know if this is still a problem for you. If it's working, could you share how you fixed it? If it's still broken, have you checked to see that a unique index has been built on the sql server table? I have seen linked tables become 'not updateable' after a user entered a new row that made the index non-unique. By changing the index to for unique values, the form became updateable again.

Hi!

Sorry about getting to this so late. For the error message you are getting when changing to design view, check the code in the close and unload events.
