Hi. I have a strange problem. After I install WinME (it works just fine), after restart it says "no system disk or disk error". I give it the sys (from ME bootdisk) but then it says "corrupted registry or registry error","problems with XMS Memory" etc and it shuts down.
Today (after my 5th instal) i copied from the network some kits (on my second partition) and then i installed via4in1 patch. It rebooted just fine. Then i tried to install the AC97 driver for audio (removed PCI Audio Device) from Device MAnager and "refresh" to let me browse the driver CD. But it went frozen and then rebooted, telling me "no system disk...".
NOTE: this is 1 of it's ways of loosing the system. Above others, it said "Cannot find system.ini" or wininit.exe.
I really don't know where it comes from...
Thank you, guys!

I think I'd go into fdisk and take out all the partitions, make a new one then do a fdisk /mbr. Before all of that I'd get a bios update for the motherboard. Maybe try another data cable for the hard drive. Somewhere along the line the data is getting mangled it seems. Maybe even some bad memory?

d'oh...
I have changed the ~HDD, the memory also. I did that thing with fdisk several times. I'll ceck the cable for the hdd.:)
