Using Windows XP Pro, I can install applications under the admin account. When I log in as a non-admin user (poweruser, user, etc.) and try to use the program, the program says it's not installed and I have to install it. If I try to use the program as an admin user (just change my user setting from poweruser to admin), I am now able to launch the program.
This seems to happen with some games that I setup for kids to play, where the game will run under the admin acct, but if I try to run it from a non-admin acct, the game will just ask to install it again. Even if I install the game under the non-admin acct (which normally gives you a play option if you insert cd again), I get re-prompted to install game when I re-insert cd.
I heard that there is a fix for this but involves somehow modifying the registry permissions / entries for these games / programs. Anyone have any working solutions on this?
Thanks.
