OK folks. Just interested to hear any other opinions/experiences with this this board, and n unusual problem.
I ran this system but was getting concerned about the heat of my 1.4(266) athlon. I was using a standard akasa fan, hence i posted this thread on tektips
thread602-241440 taken some advice from various overclocking forums, i plumped for the Thermaltake Volcano 7, an absolute brute of a fan (80mm fan, 6000 rpm) with copper contacts and thermal grease. This has lowered average CPU temp to 45C.
However on the soltek mobo there is a huge transistor on the top left side of the 'zif' socket (CPU socket) that makes the fit very very tight indeed!!
You would think mobo manufacturers would take these things into there design approach, especially when the board is marketed with 'RED STORM OVERCLOCKING', and its not as if the board is old!!!
any comment?
