Has anyone have softphone working successfully? I've have a customer who been trying to get 10 softphone working - every PC seems to have diffrent problem with either voice quality - crakle - hissing - beeps - echo the list goes on and on! Randomly one or two do work fine!
They have IP Hard Phone which works fine - so I rule out the nextwork.

If anybody has this working - would be grateful if you can let me know what setting you have used on the IP Office/softphone and what version IP Office is running.

I've used 3.2.54/55 and V4 all having the same issues!

Thanks

Hints

Using the PC in question, record a sound file, and play it back. Make it a good long 30 second recording using sound recorder on the PC is a good option. Also, use the same devices(mic) to record , and to listen(headphones, speakers) to the file you are going to use for the softphone. If that works well, good quality with no sound issues, proceed. If any issues, move on to the next PC to try until they get that issue fixed. that is not your responsibility to fix the sound device, or sound card issues, that is an IT job.

Check firewalls, turn off AV to test, plug the pc straight into the LAN port on the IPO if possible to test. If it works plugged straight into the IPO LAn port, you have a network issue.
