Softphone with no Audio

Greetings everyone. I have an IPO v4.1(09) with the appropriate licenses for Phone manager PRo and the softphone license. I vpn into system, connect and have all the funtionality I should except I get no audio. I can receive calls, make calls, etc but no audio. I am using an HP laptop. DO I nee to set something in the computer. ANy suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

OK, Guys, I am back with the same problem. I upgraded to XP Pro Service PAck 3. I have both services running as per Tech Tip 187. And I still get the same message about Voip not registering. I guess the case was not solved. Any ideas?
 
Ok a quick check list

0) read the documentation
1) VPN up and working (or on a LAN)
2) PMro and IPPro licences installed
3) User set to have Softphone licence
4) VOIP set on Preferences tab in PM pro
5) Confirm Voip address is set on Codec tab (and enable fast-start too)
6) VCM available
7) IP extension built on system
8) Headset working ok and audio settings on PC are set to use the headset as preferred devices

Run a monitor log with all H323 logging on and see what turns up in the trace.

Thanks for the reply. The Voip setting is checked but grayed out. Is that ok? What voip tab address are you referring to? Also, does the softphone have to have a unique station number or can the SOftphone have the same number as a working IP phone?

It must be a unique number, if you wan't to have it the same number then use twinning, can you read a manual???

Then go here;

Install PhoneManager;

Setup SoftPhone;
