Hi,

I would like to get the Softphone to alert incoming calls on the PC Speaker and then have the conversation go on the headset on a non-USB headset.

Is there any good way to get the same feature you have in Skype "Ring PC speaker" on the Softphone.
I know you can get this if you have an USB headset, but they have 50 Softphones and doesn't want to spend the money switching to USB headsets.

regards

Janni

Are you saying you have a site running 50 Phone Manager Soft phones and this is your only issue you are very LuCkY !

I must admit I have not tried what you are describing, I do seem to remember a reference to being able to do this in a prior release note.

Sorry I cannot be more help

Janni,

We have a simulair setup but could not get it to work. Customer found however a cheap USB speaker and solved it the other way arround.

Out of curiousity: what is your experience with the 50 pc softphones? We have a lot of issues with call stuttering etc etc. The latest release however has implemented one big improvement: the iclarity.exe is now installed with process priority = high.

Maybe I should check if this is on the feature request list at Avaya. It's really a useful feature.

About the site we haven't activated it for incoming calls yet but they have tested it for about 2 weeks now internally and for outgoing calls and haven't heard any complaints yet about the soundquality.
They have 1 main site and 4 other sites that call out thru the main site. DSL between the sites with QoS and dedicated bandwith for VOIP and 8-15ms ping between sites.
Only problem with soundquality so far was when a user tried to connect from home with VPN, probably due to the homeusers connection.

which release are you using? We have an issue where the assisted transfer doesn't work (one way speechpath). The called party can hear the caller but not vice versa.
This was an issue on 3.1.56 but is still in 3.1.65 although the release notes said it was fixed..

In 3.1.48 and 3.1.56 the call quality was not acceptable. When you scroll through a web page while on a call, it resulted in stuttering. 3.1.65 seems to have a solution for that. However, don't know if it was a Phonemanager issue or core ipoffice.

For the rest it seems that 3.1.65 is performing better that 3.1.56 for the VOIP part.

Currently I'm using 3.1 56 but will probably upgrade soon.
When they used G729 the sound quality wasn't that good so they are now using G711 a-law.
Haven't heard any issues with one way speechpath yet but I don't now how much they have experimented with the application yet.
