Softphone for agents

I have the softphone working on the telecommuter setting. However I cannot login as an agent. What am I missing here? I can log in as an agent from my phone, using the feature access codes, but when I login to my phone through the softphone, I cannot login as an agent with the feature access codes. Do I need to have IP Agent instead of softhphone?

You can login as an agent but you must dial the access codes. The buttons don't work they are gray'ed out. another gotcha is you can only be assigned to one split.
