I just downloaded the latest release of the Softphone (R 5.2 SP1) from the Avaya web site. We're starting to plan for roll out of Windows Vista on our campus, and I'm trying out software. And although I can get it to successfully install and connect, I get no playback or audio in from the mic through it. All sound systems are working properly on the laptop, because I can record and play back sounds with the mic with out a problem. If it matters, it's a Dell Latitude D520 with the Sigmatel Audio in it. Drivers are current from both Dell's site and Sigmatel's site. The drivers are official Vista ones. Does anyone know if R5.2 SP1 is technically Vista compatible? If not, has anyone heard when a Vista compatiable softphone client is due out?

Thanks!

From what I have been told by my Avaya contacts, R5.2 is not Vista compatible. I'm being told that a new release of SoftPhone is due out in September.

Thanks for the information. I'll pass it along to my boss.
