I have a customer interested in using an IPO R8 for 40 softphone users that will be call center agents.

Questions=
Do i need an IP endpoint license as well as a teleworker license for each softphone to work?

Any thoughts on only using softphones in this scenario?

At what point is it a good idea to use an agent lic? users in HG's can answer calls that get queued up, so why get the agent lic? I'm sure there is a good reason, i'm just not aware of it. Coming from BCM where I needed agents in order for call queuing and skill based routing.

TIA

There is no need for IP end point licenses.
Agent licenses are needed when you use CCR.

You will need the CCR Agent licenses if you plan on doing any type of reporting of agent activity.

Though, for some nagging reason I didn't think softphone was supported with CCR. Maybe it is now...

CCR softphone is supported with CCR and each agent needs a CCR agent license AND a Teleworker or Power User license.
I wouldn't use softphones for agents but it is your decision.
Softphones are for road warriors ( sales or techs ) driving around the country and softphones are by definition unreliable due to changing network environments.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much
