Hi,

installed softconsole and want to retreive the names from the switch. Works fine for most names.

For names like : "last1 last2, first" we have a problem.

We want "last1 last2" to be in the last name field and "first" in the first name field.

At this moment, or it's last 1 of everything in the last name field,...

Anyone any idea??

Thanks in advance.

maybe you could use an underscore (_) to connect the last1_last2 names. just a thought.

I have no technical solution to your management problem

Or you can put the name in as [teal]Last1Last2, First[/teal], capitilizing the first letters of each part of the last name. My own last name is hyphentated, and this is the way I've put myself in the PBX.

Hi,

I have the same problem.
This last suggestion works. But our customer is not happy with that.
Is there no solution that the system will ignore the "spaces" and just separate the fields when he sees a , ?

We already searched for this a while and it seems that there is no clear solution.

Thanks for any input.

Okay, try this - use a period between the two parts of the last name (Smith.Jones, Jane). When I tried this with my name, the soft directory now lists me as "Smith Jones, Jane".

Hi Susan,

I tried this but the directory shows "Smith Jones, Jane" as the last name.
In the first name he puts the extension.
So he changes the "." in a "space" but he does not separate the first and last name.
