ok we hava snap sever with 4 disks RAID5

in the past 6 months it keeps on corrupting data

recently the array was broken and created again.

is there a way to determine which disk may be corrupted? if infact that is d problem?

thanks :-)

All Snap Servers that I've worked with maintain logs that are accessible from the Administrator accounts via a Web interface. Have you looked there?

sry i didnt giv u anymore information

Snap server 4100
SnapOS 4.4.803

Errors:

File System Check: FSCK fatal error = 15
File System Check: Cylinder group 2969: bad magic number
File System Check: partition is NOT clean

There is a utility that will "fix all errors" but it doesnt work, i will try a disk format then try it again.

BUT wen it gets repaired and works for a month (if that) then it gets corrupted again

and its mayb 18 months old

could this b an issue with corupted HDD?

thanks for yor help :-)

"File System Errors
Any error message that begins with "File System" or "File System Check" indicates that one of your drives contains invalid or inconsistent data. The following error may be reported if your Snap Server® is not configured to fix errors automatically:

Disk is not ready; check disk and fix errors:

The system was shut down improperly, and the data on the drive is in an inconsistent state. Start a disk check operation to recover your data.

If any other file system errors occur, contact Customer Support to help you recover your data. In most cases, you regain access to your disk after you complete the disk check. In some extreme cases, however, you may lose data."

So, yes, it does indeed sound as if it is a drive problem. Unfortunately, there isn't much help here to isolate the error.

Hopefully, this is the right page for your product, as it says 3 year warranty on the 4100 model:

Is this Snap on a UPS?
