I am trying to get RME to send e-mail notifications to a remote e-mail account not within the same network where Ciscoworks resides but have not been able to do this.
I am running Ciscoworks on a Solaris platform, we dont run a DNS server as such as it is a test network although i do run DNS on the Ciscoworks server. The network does not run a local mail server or proxy server either.
First question, can Ciscoworks send a mail directly to a remote mail server?
Secondly, Is there anything i need to configure with Solaris, such as sendmail?.
I have been playing with a couple of the scripts which come with ciscoworks for e-mail notifications. From what i can make out, ciscoworks is not evan attempting to send the mail.
Much appreciated if someone out there can help
