Hi,
I've got got Microsoft SMTP service (Win2000) working fine and have it forwarding to a smarthost. I wish to change the port on the smarthost to something other than 25.
However I can't seem to get the SMTP service to change the port that it will deliver to.
I'll explain a little more as I don't think I'm making good sense here....
I have a smarthost on a different machine listening on PORT 27.
I want the Microsoft SMTP service to relay mail through the smarthost, but because its listening on port 27 the SMTP service cannot forward mail to it...
I've done the following but it doesn't seem to have worked:
Opened up the SMTP service
Opened up the properties of it..
Clicked on GENERAL
Clicked on CONNECTION
and changed the TCP port to 27 and stopped and started the Default SMTP Server (which is the one I'm working with).
Didn't work.....
Any ideas anyone?
Best Regards
