SMS Broadcast software

Hi there

I am interested in finding out about any software which can be used to broadcast SMS messages from a backend database. I have found some software in my travels so far but have not managed to successfully set any of it up.

I am also after a little advice regarding the possibility of developing something like this myself. I am happy with obtaining data from the db but am not to sure what happens from there, any recommended reading advice etc would be most appreciated.

Its a good site beacuse its a pay as you go service with no standing fees. They also have premium rate reverse billing services that enable you to generate money by running SMS based applications.

Why not try running ur own sms gateway (with your own db) using a serial GSM modem on

http://www.kannel.org/

It's freeware and it's great documentations.
