Hi!
First of all thanks Terry and Itsp for your support.
I tried to install the Compaq drivers during installation; unfortunately doesn't work. I can't even see the logical disk.
I tried all drivers, built for the installation during the OS setup (i.e. the drivers with the oemsetup.txt)
I called HP to double check the issue: they reply that I've to update the array BIOS and then use the "standard" Win2000 drives (no use any F6 drivers..)
It does not work. I tried both win2000srv and win2003srv.
Using the standard drivers, I am able to see the RAID logical drive, make partitions and install part of the OS. After te first rebioot the server stacks (unaccessible boot device - I the BIOS setup is "start from array first))
I called again HP yesterday night (timezone Italy) and they reply:
Compaq Proliant 400 (with Smart Array221) does not work with
Win2000 srv and Win2003 server.
I don't trust this technician because two technicians said two different things: furthermore win2000 drivers are available on their official web site.
Did someone install Win2000 o win2003 server within this Proliant ?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
Robert
