Hello everyone,
I have a 120GB hard drive (ata150) on an Asus p4p800-deluxe with a serial ata raid controller. My question is, if i purchase another hard drive (same as above) and make it a raid 0, will i have to delete everything on my computer before it can split the data between the hard drives?

thanks,
Jared

Yep, all data on the original HD will be wiped out when creating a RAID 0 array.
So be sure to back up all critical files on it first.

I'd recommend buying a cheap 40 or 60GB IDE drive and using that for your windows installation, then use it to move your data, and then create your raid 0 stripe set.

This also gives you ~30-35 spare GB for anything critical, in case one of the drives fails and you lose your stripe set, you still have the critical data on the IDE disk.
