Hi
Got NT4 server SP6, users using NT4 workstations and roaming profiles. One user takes about 10 minutes to log out from when he clicks log out to saving files etc to login screen again.

I can only think its caused by the roaming profile being written to the server. I had a look at the size of the profile, its smaller than most of the others who log out ok in seconds. He doesnt have lots on his desktop of favourites etc.

Any ideas on why its slow to log out????

Thanks

Have you had a look at the temporary internet files? These can get large and take time to sync. Either go into IE and click Tools, Internet Options, Delete Files or search for them on the C drive and delete them when you find them.

This usually does the trik for my users when their roaming profiles get slow.

Yeah i looked at that, they are using proxy which caches the web pages so his internet files just contain cookies.
