Hello,
Everytime I'm within any type of dialog box in Windows XP, it takes such a long time to switch between either local folders on my hard drive or mapped network drives.
Some of the dialog boxes that this happens to me on are the "Insert File", "Open", "Save", etc... dialog boxes. And some applications that I have experienced this on are Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, etc....pretty much any application that uses those XP dialog boxes.
At first I thought it was due to the mapped network drives I have, but I did a test with a file on my local hard drive and it was still very slow. Under a dialog box, I tried going into MyComputer>C:>Documents and Settings/ and it was taking a while to switch into each folder. But I still think it could be something due to the networked drive, but I'm not 100% sure.
However, if I just go directly to My Computer and go to any drives or networked drives it switches folders very quickly and I don't experience any slowness.
Thank you,
