After reinstalling a corrupted driver for one of the two NICs in our server, I have now discovered that the system is incredibly slow to boot up and plagued by several other problems. The machine is running SBS 2000.
It seems to hang for quite a while at the "Preparing Network Connection" and then again after logging in as the administrator. The Event Viewer shows five errors relating to Exchange 2000: IMAP4, POP3, MTA Stacks, Information Store and SMTP. The error basically says that these services did not start because the Exchange System Attendant failed to start due to error %%0.
I also cannot access the AD. Trying to access Users & Computers brings up an error that the specified Domain either does not exist or could not be contacted. DNS appears to be running correctly. Both NICs check out ok. I am sure it is a minor thing (or maybe not) but I am not sure what to look for next.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
