slow printing in NT 4.0

Can you tell me what factors effect printing performance in NT 4.0. I understand page file, available ram, harddisk space available, fragmentation on disk, and I believe spool file? What are the best options to tweak and use on limited ram for instance 64MB, printing downloaded files from off the internet. Sometime these files are over hundreds of pages long and also what are some options on the network side that would be beneficial because they are printing off of a NT print server. Thanks.
