I have a script on my page that hides a div. When I had the script on the page it worked fine but wouldn't validate, so I moved it off the page and called it from the server. 2 things first it won't work if it's in the head of the document second it works if it's in the body of the document after the div it hides but loads too slow thereby showing (flash top left corner)the div till the script loads. I am using and old slow box (350 mhrz) for my server, I'm guessing that may be part of the issue. I would like it not to show at all, any help would be much appreciated. The test page is at

Can't help with the js but I used to live in Naniamo back in the early eighties. I have relatives in Lantzville, Cumberland and Victoria. Hope your having a good Xmas. Cheers

Glen,

Not related to the problem you've asked... I clicked on the "Smiths Busses" link on your site, which opens in a new window.

If I view that site in Firefox, my CPU utilisation goes up to 50% while I have the site open, even if I do nothing with it. I suspect the ticker script you have in use does this, even thought it doesn't appear in Firefox. Maybe you should look into this?

Thanks for the info Dan. Here's a star. The ticker thing is commented out so it may be the snow thing. That site is hosted on Bravenet. Everytime I go to edit it I get a ton of unwanted popups and have to clean my drive so I try avoid going there. I'm wondering if that may have something to do with it.
I have Bravenet blocked in my Hosts file and recomemnd doing the same.
