I have a 2000 Server with SP4 that the internet is extremely slow on. Half the time the sites I hit gets 'page cannot be displayed' errors. You hit refresh and it pops up fine. This machine is newly formatted and doesn't have a lot on it yet. Resources are abundant, plenty of RAM and disk space and all else appears to run fine. Ideas?

I have the same problem but my server some times loses its connection to the web all together. I am using 2 NICS one for WAN and one for LAN. Only the WAN card has a Gateway assigned to it. Is this the same sort of problem??

are you using a proxy server for your internet ????

It's the same each time with progress. First they ignore you, then they say you're mad, then dangerous, then there's a pause and then you can't find anyone who disagrees with you.

How are the rest of your machines on the network? Running just as slow? If so, you might want to check out your infrastructure components (firewall, router, csu/dsu/modem, etc..)....it could be a problem there.

Found it. Incorrect DNS setting. Although the one I had worked (intermittingly) the new one I was just informed about works MUCH better. Thanks.
